People & Accounts
How do I create an account?
To create an account, you must first have a Twitter account which you can use to register. If your account is associated with an existing profile, you will ‘claim’ that profile and be able to manage it. Twitter provides us with the absolute minimum account details of your account, and the integration does not provide us with your email or allow us to post anything on your behalf.
Do you have plans to offer more sign up options?
At this time, we’re only supporting Twitter for log in, and have no plans to expand that.
Can I use the site anonymously?
Yes! If your Twitter is anonymous then your usage of Crypto Roll Call is also anonymous. Any information you provide the app is completely optional.
I signed up, but my profile is not listed.
If you don't already have a profile listed on the site when you sign up, and you have over 100 Twitter follower, your profile will go live within 48-hours. If you have less than 100 followers on Twitter, your profile will not be listed in search or by browsing, but can be accessed via your direct link. We do this to keep spam accounts out of the index.
Can I edit my profile page?
When you have signed up, you will take control of your profile and have the option to edit some fields on the profile such as your expertise and description promoting your expertise to solicit calls. The rest of the information is generated dynamically or by our review team and cannot be changed.
Where does the content come from that’s shown on the profiles
The content comes from a collection of public articles, podcasts, newsletters and videos that the person took part in. It’s an incredible database to quickly search through topics and find the information that you’re looking for.
How are the rankings calculated?
Rankings are updated daily and are based on a collection of factors including followers, retweets, likes, and other social engagement metrics.
How are the categories assigned?
We use an AI machine learning model to assign categories based on a users engagement on Twitter. The categories can be changed and verified by the user once they claim their profile. Autogenerated categories should be used as a guide only and may not reflect the users exact expertise.
Who can I send messages to?
A user can send a message to any other active user unless you have been blocked by them.
How do favorites work?
Profile that you favorite show as a curated list in your dashboard, and updates from these profiles will show up in your feed. You can add and remove favorites at any time.
How does blocking work?
If you block another user they will not be able to message you or request a call with you. You can block and unblock users from anytime in your dashboard.
How can I delete my account?
In your dashboard settings, you have the ability to unlink your Twitter account. Doing so removes all data that you saved in your account such as messages, favorites and content. It will not however remove your profile all together as they're indexed by our team.
Calling & Messaging
How does calling work?
As a user, you can initiate a phone call with another user who has activated calling on their profile. Once a date/time is agreed upon by both parties, you join on this site to have the call. Calls are web based and do not require phones or any transference of phone numbers or personal information. Calls are audio only and require a computer microphone. You have the option to share your screen, and there is no webcam support (by design).
Who can I contact for a call?
Any users who has set up calling in their account can be reached for a call.
Can I take calls from users?
Yes, calling is open to all users and you can turn on calling from your account.
How do I know who I can call?
If a user has enabled calling it will appear on their profile and in the master people list.
How long are calls?
When you initiate a call, you can request a duration of 15, 30,45 or 60-minutes
Can we have more than two people on a call?
Yes, we support team calls. Once a call is set up you can share it with other users who can also join.
Can calls run short or long?
Calls run for the booked duration only. A large countdown indicates the remaining call time. The call will be automatically terminated at the end of the predetermined time. All parties can choose to end a call early and that does not affect charges. If the caller is present but the expert is not, the timer does not start until the expert arrives. If the expert is present, but the caller is not, the timer will begin at the scheduled start time.
How are no shows handled?
Life is messy and sometimes things come up. Either party can cancel a call at any time up to 3-hours before the scheduled call time with nothing billed. If you initiated the call and need to cancel or ‘no show’ within 3 hours, you will be billed the full amount. If the expert has to cancel or ‘no shows’ there is no penalty, but you will not be billed any amount. We encourage everyone to act professionally and respect each other's time by making best efforts to attend all scheduled calls.
Do we need to provide my phone number to the caller?
No you do not. Calls happen over a web interface on the site and do not require any phone numbers.
Will calls be recorded?
No, we do not record calls, and recording a call from your local computer is strictly prohibited and against our terms of service.
What happens if the person I’m wanting to call is not available during my times
If the caller is not available, they may return with some alternative dates/times to connect. You can go back and forth with 3 options until you find a time that fits.
Why can’t I set up a call with a specific user?
If a user has set up calling, but you cannot reach them for a call, you may have been blocked by that user and therefore unable to contact them.
How do ratings and reviews work?
When a successful call has been completed you will have the opportunity to rate and review the expert. The ratings and reviews are posted on that expert's profile so please be fair and honest. You will have the option to post your review as anonymous if you do not want anyone to know that you engaged in a call. Leaving a rating/review is required after a call completes as it helps other users know the value of this expert's advice.
How can I become a ‘featured’ member in my category?
Our content team manually selects profiles for the featured section on the homepage. If you’re engaging in calls and getting positive reviews you’re likely to end up as a featured member.
How can I get more calls?
Promote your call link on social media and add it to your email signature. You can find a direct link for someone to call you in your dashboard. You can also try experiementing with price. Some users find that setting a lower per minute price is helpful to build up reviews, and then raising their price once their credibility has been established.
How does paid messaging work?
As a user you can set a fixed price to receive a message from another community member. When someone messages you, they agree to pay your posted rate of sats. The sats are held in escrow until you respond to their message. If you do not respond within 24-hours, the sats are returned to them. If you do respond, the sats are transferred to you. The conversation can continue for as long as you’d like it, at which time you can end the conversation and require another payment to continue it.
